Cabozantinib Active in Carcinoid Tumors and Pancreatic NETs
Cabozantinib demonstrated promising clinical activity in patients with carcinoid tumors and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) in a phase II trial. As such, a larger trial is in the planning phases through the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, which will be a phase III trial of cabozantinib versus placebo in patients whose cancer has progressed on at least one line of therapy that includes everolimus. Effective April 2018, Charles Ryan, MD, a member of the Alliance Genitourinary (GI) Committee, will become Director of the Hematology, Oncology, and Transplantation Division in the Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School, serve as Associate Director for Clinical Research in the Masonic Cancer Center, and will hold the B.J.
