Alliance pharmacy Committee Seeks two pharmacist members

The Alliance Pharmacy Committee would like to invite two new pharmacists to participate on the pharmacy committee. The responsibilities of members of the Alliance Pharmacy Committee include:

1. Mandatory attendance at the Alliance Fall Group Meeting when the pharmacy committee meets in person and active participation on Alliance Pharmacy Committee teleconferences as scheduled
2. Collaboration with disease-oriented committees as a pharmacist liaison for the breast, genitourinary and/or neuro-oncology programs. Charges include:

a. Active participation in Breast, Genitourinary and/or Neuro-Oncology Committee meetings for protocol development
b. Provide input to your disease oriented committee from a pharmacist clinical and dispensing pharmacist perspective and provide expertise regarding study design and methods, drug dosing and dose modifications, adverse event management, drug interaction screening, supportive care, patient education, and drug procurement, preparation and administration
c. Draft drug templates for investigational and commercial drugs as needed for protocols developed by your disease oriented committee
d. Review of all new protocols/forms/amendments from you assigned disease oriented committee
e. Serve as resource for protocol related questions within assigned disease oriented group to Alliance institution pharmacists, physicians, nurses, research assistants, etc.
3. Support Alliance Pharmacy Committee initiatives and assist in the education of other specialties and members of the multidisciplinary team
4. Collaborate across committees as assigned on projects, publications, educational initiatives and research

Minimum requirements for position include:

1. Licensed, registered pharmacist
2. Employment at an Alliance institution
3. Demonstrated commitment to the Alliance – personal letter of interest (include your area of expertise and highlight the contributions you will make to the pharmacy committee)
4. Minimum of two years of experience working with research protocols within the cooperative group setting
5. Letter of reference from your site principal investigator (PI) or supervisor indicating their support

Those interested in becoming a member of the Alliance Pharmacy Committee should submit curriculum vitae, a one-page letter of interest, and letter of support from your site PI or supervisor by March 29.
