Dr. David Kozono Elected Alliance Group Vice-Chair
David E. Kozono, MD, PhD, has been elected Group Vice-Chair of the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology by the Alliance Board of Directors at the 2024 Alliance Fall Group Meeting. Dr. Kozono will take office on January 1, 2025.
Dr. Kozono is an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School and Director of Thoracic Radiation Oncology at Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center. He obtained his MD and a PhD in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He subsequently completed his residency at the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program, and his fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Dr. Kozono specializes in the treatment of thoracic malignancies, including lung cancer, and he is committed to bringing scientific discoveries into the design and conduct of innovative clinical trials with robust translational medicine objectives.
Dr. Kozono has also had a successful record of servant leadership within Alliance. He has served as an Executive Officer for Alliance Foundation Trials (AFT) since 2014, an Executive Officer of the Alliance Respiratory Committee since 2018, and the Immuno-Oncology Committee inaugural Co-Chair since 2019. He also serves as Modality Chair on the Alliance Board of Directors.
