Dr. Electra Paskett Named 2026 Charles G. Moertel Lecturer

The Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology has honored Electra Paskett, PhD, FACE, FAACR, FASCO, as the 2026 Charles G. Moertel Lecturer.

Dr. Paskett is the Marion N. Rowley Professor of Cancer Research and Director at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital, as well as the Director and Principal Investigator of the Alliance Cancer Control Program.

As a preeminent leader in cancer prevention and control, Dr. Paskett is nationally recognized for her research into reducing differences in cancer outcomes and improving access to screening and early detection. Her work centers on designing and deploying community-based interventions, with a dedicated focus on rural populations and other underserved groups facing substantial barriers to care. Through these targeted initiatives, she has profoundly advanced prevention strategies and improved patient outcomes across a broad range of communities.

Established in 1995 through the Moertel Lecture Endowment Fund, the annual Charles G. Moertel Lecture honors the legacy of Dr. Moertel, founder of the North Central Cancer Treatment Group (NCCTG). The award recognizes outstanding individuals who have made a major, lasting impact on community cancer practice.
